My first picspam ever! I really adored this pictures so i thought about making a picspam with them, it's not the best but i think it's not the worst lol Let's call it, the quotting game.

I'm new to Photoshop - just got it (CS3), and was totally excited about working with it, but then it turned out I can't get my brushes to work properly. They show up all right where they're supposed to, but colour-wise they're messed up. No matter what I do, they're all transparent, and brushes that I download from DeviantArt look nothing like they do there.

Screenshot here. Example of a preset brush that came with the programme in the above picture, and a brush downloaded from DeviantArt in the one below. The DeviantArt brushes especially confuse me - why do they look like that? It's a santa hat like the ones I see in so many icons at the moment, why is this all screwed up?
Another problem is that on that image, I can't change the colour. As you can see, it's grey - and no matter what I do, it won't change. When I click on the colour square down at the left, it shows that I've chosen red (as seen in this screenshot), but it won't actually paint in that colour.

I'm sure the first problem at least has something to do with opacity, but I've used the Photoshop help and looked through old entries here, and I cannot for the life of me figure this out. Anyone? Bueller? Any help greatly appreciated!

(I did read this post from the archives, but I'm not sure if it's the same problem that I'm having since it's PSP, and I didn't really understand how to solve it.)

With the horrendously long hiatus coming up, I thought I'd post here and try to snag an interested person or two. I've been playing off and on again with 2 other players in a GG psl group for several months. We've lost our Chuck/Georginia/Vanessa player, but the other player and I are still really interested in keeping this thing going. We're both happy to take on pretty much anyone that's wanted, I would prefer playing Dan or Nate. She's been playing Blair, but also loves to take up the more minor characters, especially Eric and the parent characters (even Rufus!). Some ideas for the "main" plot could be...

1) Start off post 1x18 and redo Season 2. (Bart lives! Possible Serena/Dan or Serena/Nate! Jenny as Eleanor's fashion slave! Chuck's summer of debauchery or regret! And more!)
2) Start after 2x13 with Blair (accompanied by Nate/Serena/Eric or someone else) tracking down Chuck for themselves in Asia.
3) Thoroughly AU.... "what ifs" can be entertaining.
4) Start after the most recent episode and make up our own Season 3.

We'd also be fine just keeping it casual, with whatever threads spark our interest and not trying to do a major plot line. We've had fun in the back with flashbacks and slightly AU threads. We just love Gossip Girl and would like to keep the obsession burning for the next weeks as we're faced with the reality of no new episodes!

We've been playing on InsaneJournal but could definitely switch over to LJ if that's easier. I'll be copying RPing samples into a journal over on IJ (check out "and_curiouser"). I can be reached by responding to this post, by PM either on IJ or LJ, or by emailing Arazadia[ta]hotmail.com. If you'd like more rp samples, please just let me know! I'd love to see any of the characters from the GG universe, we'd most like Chuck, Nate, and Serena but really all characters are welcome. No characters is too minor, in fact they are often the most awesome (See, eg. Cyrus).
